The Hyosung GT125 is a motorcycle made by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc.
This motorcycle belongs to the category of Naked bikes, which is very rare on the 125cc market. It is in competition with only two other models, the Daelim Roadwin, and the MZ RT. Of the 3, it is the one with the best motorization on the paper, with its dual cylinder, dual carburetor configuration.
However, its massive weight of 180kg when loaded with fuel and dry 167kg, gives it a very poor weight to power ratio.
It is very common for owners of this motorbike to tune the carburetor with a 'kit up' that usually costs around 100€, and supposedly improves the air/gasoline mix situation at every regimes, virtually erasing the engine's well known lack of torque between 6000RPM and 8000RPM. This is true however, only for models until the year 2006, after which the engine's design was modified to erase this flaw. It is notorious that the problem still arises on the new models, but it can be dealt with by a proper tuning of the poppet valve's backlash every 6000 km.
